(FEBRUARY-2012) PEBBLES FROM THE ROC            We thank God for your cheerful giving.  Many of you give gifts to THE ROC through your congregation, and the gifts are then periodically sent on to THE ROC as a lump sum.  For this reason, it is impossible for us to thank you personally, but we want to sincerely thank you now for your cheerful giving and generosity.  At THE ROC, during Bible/Talk Time, we regularly include thanks to God for you in our worship prayers.  We have been greatly blessed by you and through you.

We also thank our volunteers for their hard work at THE ROC and for the good ideas they come up with to share the Gospel.  On New Year’s Eve a delicious banquet for the teens was prepared (Janine Petrie and Tyler Clemmons) using goodies many provided.  During our Bible/Talk time it was announced the teens would have to pay $5.00 each for the banquet.  As they were sad and upset, an adult volunteer (Todd Morris), dressed as Jesus, came out and announced the banquet was PAID IN FULL and was free for all.  The point that was made was that our sins have been PAID IN FULL and we now enjoy the banquet of God’s love, forgiveness and eternal life.

Anyone is invited to offer such ideas and help to Pastor Mueller that can be used in the future.   You can read about more blessings at THE ROC in the ROC Annual Report.  Look for the report in your church annual report or request one from Pastor Mueller by calling (206-9581 or 261-4444) or e-mailing (wttnroc@sbcglobal.net).

(JANUARY-2012) PEBBLES FROM THE ROC          On Monday, January 23rd at 7:00 p.m., EVERYONE is invited to THE ROC for our ANNUAL Watertown Recreation & Outreach Center for Youth (THE ROC) MEETING.   At the meeting, we will give thanks to God for the many teens who have heard the Gospel of Christ at THE ROC over the EIGHT YEARS it has been open.  The doors of THE ROC were opened on December 3rd, 2003.  Former ROC teens stop every night to express their gratitude for THE ROC and the help it gave them during their rough teen years.  Many often speak of our nightly Bible-Talk-Time as what they remember the most as God’s Word gave them eternal blessings through Christ, their Savior.

We transported a good number of teens from THE ROC to our Live Nativity at St. Luke’s.  What a blessing to have so many unchurched teens hear about their Savior in such a unique way.  The teens were deeply touched by the birth of their Savior.

We invite EVERYONE to stop in at the ROC anytime to visit.  Also check out our web page, www.thewttnroc.com.  From the web page, learn more about our volunteer program by clicking “Staff Info” and then “Adult Volunteer Staff Responsibilities”. We are always in need of more volunteers.

Recently another check came from Thrivent as Thrivent members directed $688.00 Thrivent Choice Dollars to THE ROC.  We thank you for keeping THE ROC in mind when you designate your Thrivent Choice Dollars.  Every penny counts.
