Janina Chung


Was born in Belarus in 1938 and came to the United States with her family through the displaced persons resettlement program in 1951. Far East of the Sun, her first novel, explores another side of World War II, that of a displaced person. Janina and her family endured thirteen years of life under communist oppression in Russia, forced relocation to Hitler’s Germany and its hellish concentration camps, and the confusion of post war displaced persons camps.

Sheila Connelly


Is married with one daughter and three cats. She lives in a Victorian home in Massachusetts not far from Cape Cod. She’s been an art historian, Investment banker, non-profit fundraiser, professional genealogist and finally a mystery writer. Her novels in the ‘Orchard series’ have received excellent reviews. Shawn Cormier was born in the small town of Southbridge, Massachusetts. He found his love for words early, reading the likes of Jim Kjelgaard, Jack London and J.R.R. Tolkien. He has a creative writing degree from Long Island University, Southampton campus 1989. His Nomadin series has received excellent reviews. He currently resides in East Brookfield, Massachusetts with his wife and two children.

Mary-Ann Tirone Smith


Mary-Ann Tirone Smith was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut and has lived in Connecticut all her life except for the two years she served as a Peace Corps volunteer on Mt. Cameroon, an active volcano rising 14,000 feet above the West African equatorial sea. She graduated from Central Connecticut State College. Smith has published eight novels: The Book of Phoebe, 1985; Lament for a Silver-Eyed Woman, 1987; The Port of Missing Men, 1989; Masters of Illusion, 1994; An American Killing, 1998 and the Poppy Rice Mysteries (Love Her Madly, 2000, She’s Not There, 2002, and She Smiled Sweetly, 2004). Her memoir, Girls of Tender Age, was published in 2006. Smith is now working on a Civil War novel, and is presently considering an offer to write a book based on the TV series, “High School Confidential.”
