GENERAL RULES
|
| 1 |
Local
free substitution rule: with
the exception of rule number 15 (below) for pitchers, players can be
freely substituted in and out of the game and from position to position. |

Full
Roster Batting - You must bat every player on your team at that game
before the first batter in the lineup bats again |
| 3 |
A
ten run mercy rule is in effect. This
means that once the losing team has batted 4 times and the team in the
lead is ahead by 10 or more runs the game is over and won by the team
leading. |
| 4 |
MINORS
RULE: once a team scores four runs in one
inning that half of the inning is over regardless of how many runs may
pass home plate after the fourth run scores.
Example: a team has scored three runs in the inning when the batter
hits a three run homer. Only
one more run counts.
MAJORS RULE:
the maximum runs allowed per inning is 7. |

MINORS
RULE: a team should field 10 players.
The coach may place that extra player in the short field position
or have four equally placed outfielders.
You may not place the extra player in
the infield. |
| 6 |
Every
player at a game must play at least 2 innings and must get one at bat in a
5 or 6 inning game. Every
player must play at least one inning and bat at least once in a 10 run
4-inning mercy rule game. Failure
to comply results in a forfeit to the team violating this rule. |
| 7 |
No
inning shall begin after 7:45 pm or more than 2 hours 15 minutes after the
start of the game on any weekend games.
Coaches should check their watches and confer no later than 7:30 pm
or 2 hours after the game start time. |
| 8 |
No

| 9 |
Bats
can be aluminum or wood, but no longer than 33” in length and a maximum
barrel diameter of 2-1/4” |
| 10 |
Coaches
and players are not permitted to call out balls and strikes or in any
other way attempt to influence an umpire. |
| 11 |
MINORS
RULE: There is no Infield Fly Rule in the Minors. |
| 12 |
MINORS
RULE: One coach may stand in the outfield with
their players to provide instructions. The coach may not stand in the
infield. |

PITCHING RULES
|
| 13 |
The
pitching week begins on Mondays |
| 14 |
Pitchers
can pitch no more than six innings per week |
| 15 |
The
starting pitcher can be removed as a pitcher and then reenter to pitch
only once. A relief pitcher, onced removed from pitching may not return as
a pitcher. |
| 16 |
If
a pitcher pitches a single pitch into a third inning, he/she cannot pitch
again for three days. Example:
pitch Monday 4 innings then not until Thursday. |
| 17 |
Once
playoffs begin pitchers can pitch no more than 6 innings over the last two
games. Example: pitcher
pitches 4 innings in Monday’s playoff game he can pitch 2 innings on
Tuesday and then 4 more on Wednesday. |

BASERUNNING RULES

| 18 |
No
leading off bases. Ball must pass home plate before the runner can leave
the base. A runner who leaves early and reaches another base safely will
be returned to the base he/she started from. If the runner is out, the out
stands. |
| 19 |
MINORS
RULE:
Stealing of any base, including stealing on a passed ball or overthrow
back to the pitcher, is only allowed when the batter at the plate has 2
strikes. If a player attempts to steal with less than 2 strikes the runner
will be treated the same as a runner who left base early. If the runner is
thrown out, the out stands, but if the runner is safe, he will be sent
back to the base which he started from. |

MINORS
RULE:
Stealing of home is allowed with 2 strikes ONLY in the following
scenarios:
-
stealing home is allowed on passed balls
-
stealing home is allowed if the return throw from the catcher is mis-handled
or overthrown and the ball leaves the
mound.
-
stealing of home is not permitted on a throw back to the mound unless the
ball leaves the pitchers circle.
If there are less than 2 strikes, stealing of home is not permitted, even
on passed balls... |

MINORS
RULE:
On a walk, the runner can't advance past 1st base until the next pitch
unless an error occurs during a play other than the pitch itself (passed
ball). |
