The opening book will work for both the Window's version and the Linux version.  The opening book can also be generated manually if you have a slow connection and don't want to download the book.  The User's Guide has the necessary information for creating an opening book.

    These versions are statically linked so that they can run on any Linux system.

    Thanks to Djordje Vidanovic, Djinn now has a new and improved opening book--
    for both Windows and Linux!

    Tools, Scripts etc.

    I'll be adding more to this section soon, but to start off with--here's a perl script I've found useful.
  1. pgn- This script parses a PGN file and displays the results of the games.  It can be run for multiple opponents or for a match between two players.  When there are only two players extra information is displayed.  Run it without any options to get a summary of its capabilities and operation.  As an example of its output here is the results of a 4000-game, alternating colors, match between Djinn and Yace.  The script shows the calculated Elo difference and the "Likelihood of Superiority" using Remi's "WhoIsBest" algorithm.
===========================================================
          Total played: 4000 (unique games: 3999)
          Note, only unique games are scored.
===========================================================

       Player  Wins  Losses  Draws  Score        Percent
===========================================================

  Djinn 0.966  1505  1439    1055   2032.5/3999  (50.83%)
 Yace 0.99.50  1439  1505    1055   1966.5/3999  (49.17%)

ELO Diff: 5.73

P(p1>p0): 88.80%

Command line options:

Usage: /home/tlikens/bin/pgn [-options] <filename>

Options:
  -h   |-help|--help : Print this usage message
  -d   |--debug      : Prints out internal variable values (debug use only)
  -v   |--verbose    : Shows the results of *EACH* individual game
       |--version    : Display the version and exit
  -g N |--games N    : This option limits the number of games that will be
                       parsed.  This is useful for comparing an on-going
                       Nunn-style match with a previous match.
  -a   |--alpha      : This option will sort the players alphabetically,
                       rather than by their scores, which is the default.
  -p   |--pov        : This option is only useful in 'verbose' mode when
                       a .pgn file contains a match between two players.
                       Basically, it reports the results so that one player
                       is always on the left and the other the right.  This
                       makes it easier to see runs where one player won or
                       lost a series of games.

And here's the output of the Group 9 match run by George Speight:
