Lake Sidney Lanier, created in the 1950’s, is formed by the Chestatee and the Chattahoochee Rivers. Both rivers come straight out of the north Georgia mountains. This is the cold, pristine water that makes Lanier one of this country’s best bass fisheries. Lanier is the undisputed best spotted bass lake in the world for both quality and quantity. The great thing about the spotted bass fishing is that they bite year round. Lanier is also one of the best striper fisheries in Georgia with over 20 pounders caught every day and provides some great crappie fishing. The lake is approximately 38,000 acres with 560 miles of shoreline with many creeks and islands.
