We built a shop during the spring and summer of 2003.  We didn't really know we'd be building a Cobra replica, but things work out kinda funny sometimes.

Our original intent was to build a Van's RV-9 airplane (check out vansaircraft.com, another great kit company).  Van's Aircraft is to kit planes what Factory Five Racing is to kit cars.  I already had the 118 HP Lycoming engine in the back of the shop (you might recognize pieces of it near the stairs).  But overall, it just made a lot more sense to spend about 250 hours on a sports car for around $25K-$35K instead of spending 2000 hours on a plane for around $50K-$70K.

Here are some pictures I took while moving into the shop over the 2003 Christmas holidays.

More to come...

The building is 24' by 36', including the 4' front 'porch'.  It has about 570 sq. feet upstairs for later use as an office/football watching hideout (and for when I'm not allowed to sleep in the house anymore).

I wasn't trying to get fancy on the outside, but it had to match the house.
