The books are based on the seasons of Buffy and Angel, so Book 1 = Season 1 of Buffy and so on. This is my first story in this fandom, although I have written in others. (See 'About me' on the menu for a link to that site.) While the chapters are based around the episodes in a certain season, the story goes very AU at times and sticks close to the way things happened in the show at others, so yes, there are spoilers for the seasons each of the books are based around.

This story started out with a simple idea...what if Spike had been the one to get the soul instead of Angelus? From there the whole thing snowballed—including some variations on things that happened with Xander and the hyena—until I wound up with this series.
To Kep. Without her I probably never would have found the courage to post this anywhere. Also, it wouldn't be the story it is without her input.
