Profile

Steve started his career in 1983 building and piloting his own Harley Davidson dragsters for local ET races in North and South Carolina. In 1989 after steadily moving up through the ranks, Steve started running a carbureted fuel dragster and then on to a high gear injected fuel dragster where he gained valuable knowledge and experience preparing him for the move to the top fuel class.

Steve has been racing fuel dragsters for over a decade and has consistently finished in the top six in the nation. The 1998 season brought the move to top fuel racing where Steve produced 2 wins and his first 200-MPH pass. He was the seventh person in the world to go 200 mph on a Harley Davidson.

The 1999 Top Fuel Season brought 1 win, 3 runner up finishes and the number 6 spot in the national points with the America Drag Bike Association. Due to that accomplishment, Steve was invited to participate in the ADBA World Finals in January and February of 2000 held in Australia.

Banzai was one of four teams representing the United States and proudly finished runner up in the first two of the three races in the series and fourth overall in the World Finals.

The Banzai Race Team answered the call in 2001 capping off a tremendous season by clenching the AHDRA Top Fuel national points championship in Las Vegas, NV.

The Banzai race team travels all over the United States and Canada campaigning its top fuel dragster with the AHDRA and the NHRA racing sanctions.
