The Franke Family History

Descendants of Bertha Franke and her sister Augusta Franke

of Fond du Lac, WI, Pittsburgh PA, and Stuttgart Germany

Family tradition states that there were 4 Franke sisters who came to America from Germany during the 1870's and 1880's. I have been able to discover three of these sisters so far, and a clue to the fourth.  Also with the four sisters are two brothers.  I have not been able to track down the descendants of the first brother, Bruno Franke, even though I had an old address for his daughter Toni Hunter. I was fortunate to find a descendant of the second brother, Paul Franke, who collected all of thi family informamtion for me.  
 


Emma Augusta Franke - born 26 Dec 1846 in Saxony, germany. Married Wilhelm Keilberg.
Bertha Franke - born in 1849. Married Frederich A. Berghandler, and emmigrated in 1882. Died of typhoid in 1896.
Mary Franke - Married John Kappel, and operated a jewelry store in Pittsburgh.
Herman Paul Franke - born 1858
Bruno Franke - no info
unknown sister - possibly named Christine. and possibly married a man named FOX.
