Paul Keilberg was a craftsman who emmigrated from Germany to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with other Keilberg relatives.
He started his own greenhouse, and sold flowers on the city streets. Paul had another talent
that he used to pass the time. Paul had a growth on his jaw, and the pain from the injury kept
him from getting a restful sleep. When he could not sleep, Paul whittled. He crafted his
creations from discarded boxes and crate lumber that he found. He crafted many items that
reminded him of his homeland. He build a replica of the church in Burgstadt, where he and his wife
were married. He crafted a replica of the Eifel tower in Paris. These photos are a sampling
of the work done by Paul. |
