Technology Summary
Research Cost = 5000

Cloaking permits ships to move nearly undetected by sensors. It does not, despite the recent press reports, make ships invisible. Future battleships will automatically be equipped with Cloaking Technology. Unlike most ships, after these new ships are found by an enemy, they cannot be tracked beyond visual or sensor range.

Description

The Italian-based Remus Corporation, named after one of the founders of Rome, has developed a tiny light distortion field capable of rendering lab rats invisible. With proper funding, they feel this technology could be extended to eventually envelop a larger area, such as that of a starship.
