Now standard on all our planets is a series of devices that can help take the edge off of local weather. Planets can be very harsh and dangerous which can cause accidents. These devices don't make the planets really any nicer but instead make them safer. The net result is that fewer people are killed due to weather related effects (which can be quite considerable on some planets).
