Boy Scout Troop 797

Shiloh National Military Park

October 1-3, 1999

This year's trip to Shiloh was wonderful. The weather was warm and dry.

We had 16 hikers hiking trails 1, 3, 5 and 7.

The military park and the surrounding area are mostly level.

All the hikers are challenged by the length of the trails and the questions about the Civil War that must be answered.

To recieve the patch for trail 5 the hikers must each read a book about Shiloh and submit a written essay.

Lunch must be packed since the hikes are 14 or more miles and you can't return to camp.
