The boys and the Nova

August 1998. Picture taken at a car show held at the Raley's supermarket.
"Here is a picture of my two sons... no, wait, it's a picture of the car, the kids just got in the way!"

Earliest photographed incarnation.

August 1998. Taken at the same show.
"This is my car at one of it's earliest incarnations. I had bought this car 9 months prior, yet had already made many adjustments. This is as close to the beginning as your going to get, because I don't have any earlier pictures."

Primitive Motor

Fall 1998. Engine.
"My motor way back when. The blue hoses were cool, but all I could think was...'Not enough shine and power'."

The calm...

Fall 1998. The calm before the storm.
"You can't tell by the pictures, but the car had some body blemishes. So, not being one to leave (almost) well enough alone, I did the only thing one could do... I thought I would start completely from scratch and take this thing down to bare metal!"

...the storm

Late 1998. Removal of all exterior parts.
"As you will see from the this set of pictures, everything on the outside had to be taken off for the restoration process."

Bare @$$

Late 1998. Removal of bumper, taillights, and even the trunk lock.

"This was a process I won't soon forget."

Not the greatest smile.

Late 1998. Removal of front grill and trimming.
"It's very unfortunate that you don't realize the amount of work that goes into a project like this until you're already in the middle of working on it."

Let's get ready to rumble

Late 1998. Removal of every last detail.
"This is just the tip of the iceberg!"

Take a peek inside

Late 1998. Interior.
"Even through all the outside work, I was still focusing on the inside too.
I added the fire extinguisher, and the tacometer, but that was nowhere near the end."
