Toby's 69' Bronco Bio page.

The outside of the Bronco is painted with a mixed color of Bright Red and Dark Red Zolotone with inlayed graphic's done in PPG Silver. The interior is coated with Duraback Black. The cage, bumpers, and wheels and also done in PPG silver.

I run a custom Warn 8274 winch with a spool that has been increased in width 5.5".

I have 2 PIAA 80 series with platinum bulbs mounted to the front bumper along with two Hella micro FF fog lamps. I also have two KC lights on the truck. One is pointed at the back of the front driver’s side tire for a rock light, and the other is pointed out back for a reverse light.

My bumpers are built out of 2" .120 wall DOM tubing and the front is a prerunner style and the rear is a wraparound with a swing-away tire carrier the is on bearings.

The rocker panels on the truck are made out of 3/16" steel and the nurff bars are welded onto the front of the rockers. The backsides of the rockers are attached to the down legs of my cage.

The cage in the truck uses spreader bars that run the width of the body and will rest on the top of the frame rails if it ever is hit hard enough to punch through the floor.

I built all of the tubular parts on the truck using a Mittler Bros. bender. I build custom cages in my shop on the side for a little mad money.

Now on to the good stuff!!

I have designed a custom suspension for both the front and rear of the truck. The front consists of radius arms that are extended 9.5” and a track bar, with pivoting coil cups and WH 3.5 rock crawler springs. The rear uses the same radius arms and track bar setup but with Firestone air springs on drop-away upper arms. I have 12” of vertical travel up front and 14” out back.

The axles are D60’s out of a 79’ F350. I loaded them with 4.56:1 gears and ARB’s. The rear is a full-floater and runs 35 spline Mossure axles and the front has stock  35 spline inners and cryogenically treated 30 spline outers. I run the Warn full-time hubs in the front.

The brakes are 12" disc's with Ford 1ton dual calipers both in the front and the rear.

To be able to stop this rig I tried every trick in the book and finally settled on a Hydro-boost out of a 75’ C***y C30. I have a Hurst line lock on the front brakes and a Stewart LBS purporting valve in the rear line.

I use a F150 power steering box and a Saginaw canned ham pump to feed both the PS and the PB.

I have a 190A Premier Power Welder for on the trail fixes. This huge alternator also feeds the dual Optima’s for lighting and winching.

Right now I have a mild 351W running a 2bbl. Holley Projection. With 95’ 5.0 truck shorty headers from FMS.

I run a NP435 trans with a custom adapter that I designed and built for a D20. My D20 transfer case is rebuilt and uses a cryogenically treated output shaft.

The Drive shafts are built by Dicks Driveline service and use a CV at the transfer case.

For tires I use 38 X 12.5 X 16.5 Super Swamper TSL’s on military Hummer rims. I use these rims because they are 8.25” and have a 6” back spacing. They also have an internal bead lock that locks both the inner and outer beads.

I have plans to go to a multiport fuel injection soon.
