Turner Farms Natural Angus Beef

Flat Iron SteakTurner Farms Natural Beef is PURE ANGUS beef.  The Angus breed of cattle is known world wide for producing high quality beef. A number of beef brands and restaurants have capitalized on the Angus name; but most beef sold using the Angus name is actually a cross between the Angus breed and other breeds.  All of the cattle that produce Turner Farms Natural Beef are purebred Angus cattle from our registered Angus herd.

Turner Farms Natural Beef is well marbled.  Marbling is the fine flecks of fat that you see interspersed within the red muscle of a steak.  Marbling makes beef more juicy and tender.  The amount of marbling in a steak is determined by genetics and management.  We use the American Angus Association’s database to improve the marbling genetics in our beef.  We also increase marbling by feeding grain for at least 120 days prior to harvest.

Chuck Eye SteakTurner Farms Natural Beef is all NATURAL.  The cattle that produce our beef never eat any antibiotics and do not receive any artificial growth promoting implants or hormones. Growth promotants can decrease the marbling in beef and make the beef less tender.  Although it costs more to produce natural beef, we keep it natural.

Turner Farms Natural Beef is processed locally by one of several state inspected facilities.  Our beef is dry-aged in a walk-in refrigerator for at least 14 days prior to processing to improve its tenderness and taste.  Practically none of the beef which is sold in grocery stores is dry aged.  In order to save money, grocery stores avoid this important step in the process.

After dry aging, the beef is ready to be processed.  People often ask, “What cuts of meat are available?”  The answer is simple, you decide which cuts you would like and how thick they will be cut.  The processor will cut the beef to your specifications.  After cutting, our beef is vacuum packed and frozen to preserve its freshness and taste.

NY Strip SteakTurner Farms Natural Beef is available for sale to the public as either sides of beef (1/2 steer) or split sides of beef (1/4 steer).  Pricing is based upon the “hanging” or carcass weight of the beef before it is processed into individual cuts.  Whole sides of beef are priced at $2.65 per pound and split sides are priced at $2.75 per pound.  Whole sides typically weigh between 300 to 400 pounds and split sides range between 150 and 200 pounds.  The actual weight after processing will be less than the carcass weight and depends upon the level of processing requested.

Turner Farms Natural Beef is locally grown outside of Honea Path, South Carolina.  Since all of the cattle that produce Turner Farms Natural Beef are born here on the farm, we can guarantee you that the genetics, feeding and processing are the best available.  Please call with any questions you may have and you are welcome to visit the farm and see for yourself how your beef is grown.
