Monte Montgomery

My favorite musician in the world, since January 2000, is Monte Montgomery, the amazing singer/songwriter/guitarist from Austin, Texas. When I saw Monte and his band on Austin City Limits, I was immediately hooked, and I've seen Monte and his band perform 7 times since February 2000. Monte Montgomery is the complete package, "the whole enchilada" - he combines a soulful voice with thoughtful, intelligent and rhythmically sophisticated pop/rock songs while playing (electrified) acoustic guitar like nobody on this planet. In March 2002, Monte was named Best Acoustic Guitarist at the Austin Music Awards for the fifth straight year, and he placed in the top 10 in several other categories. His current band includes Phil Bass on drums and Lonnie Trevino Jr. on electric bass, occasionally joined by percussionist Mikel Urdy.
