This was the Hog Fire in the Klamath National Forest in northern California. This was also the first photo I sold to a newspaper. The San Jose Mercury ran it BIG on Page 1. I shot this at a backfire around 2:00 AM. I think that I may have forgotten to remove the orange filter I had been using for the black and white photos during the day. Sometimes mistakes work out.
