Overview

 
This course covers Serves two purposes. First, Exploring U.S. History examines the time period from the Civil War to 1945, with emphasis on such topics as the reconstruction of the South, the rise of labor unions and big business, World War I, immigration, the "Roaring Twenties," the "Great Depression," and World War II. It is designed to help students develop a better understanding of their past and work toward the development of good citizenship skills
 
Secondly, this course is an introductory course for freshmen students to become acquainted with the academic rigor and expectations of the Lafollette High School Social Studies Department. More importantly, this course establishes the academic foundation for subsequent learning throughout a student's experience at Lafollette High School.
