What we do for fun pages
|
Thank you for visiting our part of cyberspace. We live on Point-Au-Roche, which located along Lake Champlain in Northern New York. Lake Champlain is the sixth largest lake in the United States and recently had the honor of being declared as a Great Lake, joining the other five Great Lakes. Even though it was only a short period of time, it did make for some interesting news from the states bordering the Five Great Lakes who greatly objected to the designation. There is a lot of history along the shores of Lake Champlain. Some would say this nation was born here, from the French and Indian wars through the American Revolution, to the War of 1812. During all of these conflicts, Lake Champlain proved to be the vital link needed in the birth, and later defense of this nation. Lake Champlain is also home to its very own lake monster, who we affectionately call Champ or Champy. Sightings of Champy date back to Samuel De Champlain, who was the European to report a sighting in 1609. However, Native Americans have much lure concerning these elusive creatures, dating way before the first Europeans came to this country. For more information visit Champy Web Site.
