Bob is retired from the Air Force after serving 20 years. I was stationed the following places:
- Lackland AFB, TX. with the 3408 Basic Military Training Squadron. For basic military training. (Jul - Sep 1971)
- Lowry AFB, CO. with the 3415 Training Squadron. Attended Aircraft Armament systems course. (Sep 1971 - Jan 1972)
- Myrtle Beach AFB, SC with the 354th Munitions Maintenance Squadron (Deployed with the unit to Korat RTAFB, Thailand in support of the Vietnam Conflict) Worked in Weapons Loading section on the A-7D Attack jet. (Jan 1972 - Apr 1974)
- Udorn RTAFB, Thailand with USMACTHAI/TLD (Det. 19 of the 1191st Special Activities Squadron). Unit trained foreign Weapons Systems Technicians on the T-28 Attack aircraft. (Apr 1974 - Feb 1975)
- Korat RTAFB, Thailand with the 388 Munitions Maintenance Squadron . Assigned to Weapons Loading on the F-4D Fighter (Feb - Apr 1975)
- Plattsburgh AFB, NY with the 380th Munitions Maintenance Squadron. Assigned to the Weapons Release/Aircraft Checkout section on the FB-111A Strategic Bomber. (Apr 1975 - Jun 1978)
- Lowry AFB, CO with the 3460th Instructor Training Group. Assigned to the Strategic Weapons system course comducting classes on the FB-111A, B-52, and F-106 aircrafts. (Jun 1978 - Jun 1982)
- Plattsburgh AFB, NY again with the 380th Munitions Maintenance Squadron Assigned to the Weapons Release In-Shop Maintenance section for the FB-111A Strategic Bomber. (Jun 1982 - Jun 1984)
- Offutt AFB, NE assigned to the HQ Strategic Air Command at LGWC and then with advanced concepts program at LGXJ. Assigned as Manager for the FB-111A, and B-1B bombers then assigned as Aquisitions Manager for Weapons on the B-2A Bomber. (Jun 1984 - Aug 1989)
- Kunsan AB, Korea with the 35th Aircraft Maintenance Unit. Assigned as shop chief for the Weapons Section in support of the F-16C/D fighters. (Aug 1989 - Aug 1990)
- Wurtsmith AFB, MI with the 379th Munitions
Maintenance Unit. Assigned as Weapons section supervisor
for the B-52G Bombers. (Deployed to Jedda Saudi Arabia in
support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm) (Aug 1990 -
Jul 1991)
During his career he recieved many awards and decoration including the Mertorious Service Medal (X2), Air Force Commendation Medal (X3), Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor (X7), Organizational Excellence Award (X2), Southwest Asia Campaign Medal, Southeast Asia Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Medal (X2), Small Arms Markmanship Medal.
