  • OMG!! D4 p41N!!
Privateer454 makes with teh pain and provided us with this video clip of some of the internet's best ownage moments. Sweet merciful crap, some of those hurt me... and I'm just watching. The work computer had bandwidth problems, but it came right down the pipe here at Cabal World Headquarters. Turn down your speakers, the Limp Bizkit soundtrack is on the loud side.

  • More video
Privateer454 makes with teh funnay with this animation about a possible Clinton run in 2008. Not quite as good as some of the work from Jib Jab, but a good effort none the less.

Personally, Hillary isn't my first choice. I want to vote for Montana's Governor Brian Schweitzer, because he's teh cool!

  • Home field advantage
Rivals.com brings us their Top 10 Home Field Advantages in college football. Who got first place, you ask? Well, here's a hint: why else would we point it out?

  • Pat Roberston
Heavy C over at The Lazy Eye beat us to the punch with this post. Yeah, we were going to get around to calling him an asshat, and probably point you to this post from the archives.

But in the grand scheme of things, we weren't really that outraged about what Robertson said and his lies about it afterwards.

It's true that we're not big fans of the idea of assassination as an instrument of foreign policy, and trying to control who gets to lead other countries usually doesn't work out for us well - like, say, in Iran. But we're also of the mind that Robertson is more of an attention whore than anything else. He probably figured that no one was paying attention to him, and so he'd say something outrageous in a desperate attempt to be relevant.

There is one feature to this who event that we do find VERY interesting. It's this little tidbit.

''This is not the policy of the United States government,'' McCormack said Tuesday. ''We do not share his views.''

Why, exactly, does the White House need to point out that Pat Robertson's views are not the policy of the White House? If Heavy C or I called for an assassination, no one would care. If Kos or Assrocket did it, no problem. If Rush Limbaugh or Al Franken did it, the bloggers and net nerds would get worked up, but that's as far as it would go. If Brit Hume or ...... alright, can we get one God Damn Real Liberal hosting the news in the MSM, please?!?!?! Anyway, if Brit Hume or, let's say, Jon Stewart called for Chavez's death, no one would mistake it for US policy. But when fundy nutbag Pat Robertson does it, the White House goes out of their way to point out it's not their policy.

Me thinks they doth protest too much? I think it's very telling. Perhaps they fear that the fundy fringe has been running things so long, that people are starting to conflate the two? Well, all we can say is too F'n late.

Oh, and then there's this asshole, who thinks it's okay that Robertson, as a "Christian", wants the assassination of Chavez because Robertson probably prayed for him first.
