D'oh!
Well, I guess I saw this one coming.

I'm disappointed, but I'm not that disappointed, if you know what I mean. Last year, I had very high hopes, and when they lost so poorly to Miami last year, I was crushed. For the first time ever, I turned off a game before it was over and went to bed. I sort of renounced football for a while, even going so far as to stop updating various fantasy teams.
But this year, we all knew that VT was going to drop a few. And after GT ran up the quick three TDs in the first quarter, the hokies seemed to settle down a little. Hopefully they've learned a few things, and grow on them.
So is 8-4 still a good prediction? Who knows? Clemson sure looks strong on every side of the ball. Miami is struggling, but they still have killer speed. What about BC? Heck, even Kent State is winning some games. So your guess is as good as mine.

New Clock Rules
When I first heard about the new clock rules, I was against them... but was willing to see how it went. The buys over at The Wizard of Odds have been following the data pulled together by cfbstats.com on the game length. It turns out that the new rules have resulted in less football, which is bad. Maybe it's just the tinfoil hat I wear, but it doesn't seem like the TV broadcasts are any shorter. So if the games are shorter, but the broadcastst are just as long, what could be filling in the extra time? Hmmm......
