Tis the season.... for Halloween
Last year, in my 2006-10-30 post, I talked about how Halloween is my favorite holiday. That still holds true, and I'm not the only one. Over at Nostalgic Rumblings, Charlie has begun posting a 10-part radio serial of Adventures by Morse: The City of the Dead. Adventures by Morse is written by old time radio uber-writer Carlton E. Morse. I'm not familiar with this specific serial, but I've heard a lot of Morse's other work, and it's definitely worth the listen.
Charlie will be posting episodes throughout the month. Be sure to check them out.

Call for books
Also in last year's post, I mentioned how I pull out a horror classic every October. Books like The Phantom of the Opera,
Dracula,
Frankenstein,
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,
The Invisible Man,
or the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe or Guy de Maupassant.
So what should I read this year? One of the above? I've also thought about pulling out The Historian again, which was a great book. But I'm not sure which I should choose.
So, do you have any recommendations? Did I miss a classic? Let me know.

Book backlog
Though I'm a reader, I'm not much of a writer. It just isn't in my nature. I've been trying to write about books I read. I hope you enjoy it, but it's like homework I assign myself to get me writing. Unfortunately, it isn't going as well as I hoped. Books are being read faster than they're being written about. Here are a few that are in my finished pile waiting for me to take a crack at:
Maybe one day I'll get on it. *sigh*
