Brando ("Gus")

Gus is a 15.0 hand dark bay Connemara/Welsh/TB cross gelding. He is one of those "once in a lifetime horses" and I am thankful that he chose me to be his human. He has taught me more about riding than any instructor I've ever had.

We competed together for seven successful seasons, moving up from Beginner Novice to Preliminary. I can count the number of events in which we didn't place on my right hand. The word "No" just wasn't in Gussy's vocabulary. That is, unless you were trying to catch him in an open field.

Gus sustained an injury to a superficial digital flexor tendon two years ago and never completely recovered. At 18, he is now retired and is enjoying his new position as a fancy lawn ornament and Mayor Emeritus of my farm.
