Pete, WA1SOV's 4-125 rig. This transmitter was originally built by Chuck K1KW (formerly WA1EKV) 25 years ago. Pete has modified it with the additional tank components to the right to make it go on 160 through 10 meters. This transmitter is capable of 120 watts carrier out, on all bands presently. The rig is modulated (not shown) by a pair of 811A's originally designed by Tim, WA1HLR. Pete has modified the modulator to operate with a RCA 900/63-501 250 Watt Broadcast Modulation Transformer. The modulator is driven externally with line level audio. The low level audio processing is comprised of a Mackie CRZ-1604VLZ 16 channel 16-4-2 mixing console, and followed by a DBX 166A Compressor, a Stereo 10 band graphic EQ, and a ART FXR Elite II Digital Effects Processor. The microphones are two AKG D200E Dynamics. The Studio is stereo capable for the stereo AM rig when that is finished. Other transmitters not shown include a homebrew pair of 813's modulated by a pair of 833's, a Valiant II, a DX-60A modified for Plate Modulation externally, and a Yeasu FT-900 Rice Box. The receiver at the Hi-Fi listenning post is a Hammerlund SP-600/JX17.The antenna is 160 meter dipole at 60 feet fed with open wire feeders.
