OBJECTIVE
 
A senior position in Human Capital Management (HR), Strategy or Corporate Effectiveness where I can apply Change Management, Strategic Planning, Organizational Design & Development, General Management and Management Consulting skills to increase the business and organizational effectiveness of a company. Alternately, I would consider accepting a position as CIO in an organization that needs leadership in large IS related Change, in aligning IS with Corporate and business area Strategy, developing enabling IS capabilities and getting more value from IS spending.
 
I believe there is a great need today in HCM (HR) to establish internal competencies in Change Management, Strategy and OD Consulting to the organization. I feel I am extremely well prepared to fulfill that role.

· Led the Asia Pacific region of one of the world’s largest international hotel corporations through a significant downsizing and restructuring of its business. General Management. Managing Director for the start up of US operations of an MRO B2B eMarket
joint venture by Deutsche Bank AG and German software maker SAP AG.(EMARO) Reported to the worldwide CPO (Chief Purchasing Officer) of Deutsche Bank (also Chairman of the joint venture Board of Directors). Responsible to set up the U.S. operation. Worked in NYC across from WTC South Tower. Involved frequent travel to Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany and Emaro AG on SAP’s campus in Walldorf, Germany. Utilized fluency in German to facilitate work & communications. Supply Chain Management.

· An office MRO B2B eMarket featuring SAP/Commerce One technology, a collaborative supply chain concept within a comprehensive eProcurement business model.
· Managed the business start up including bank, legal and regulatory activities and all normal business planning and set up operations covering business registrations, office/ IT infrastructure, tax/ financial, HR and benefits, payroll, contracts, market research, business strategy and market plan. Also participated in development of funding approval presentations to the internal DB venture capital group (in Frankfurt).
· Developed the Sales Plan including “C” Level sales presentations, target company list and the distinct value proposition for both short term and long term cost and benefits for targeted companies.
· Managed the initial work, with Deutsche Bank, including analysis of IT and Commodity spending while implementing an ePurchasing strategy for MRO goods via an SAP/Commerce One portal.

Director, Business Development Europe, BOSE Corporation, Frankfurt, Germany 1996- 2000
European Senior Management Team

Directed the turnaround recovery of the Bose European Home Entertainment Division across 16
countries in Western Europe as part of a 3-year expatriate Change Management assignment for the worldwide market leader in quality audio products. One of three managers responsible for Bose European wholesale operations. Learned to speak German and became fluent during the assignment. Business performance improved from significant losses in 1994-6 to profitability in 1997 and record profitability in 1998 - 2000. New Business Development. Also directed the start up of the Bose European Retail Direct business division and the opening of the first outlet store near Manchester / Liverpool in January 2000. 

· Received a President’s Award and European Management Team Award in 1999 for directing the business recovery of BOSE European business. Director & facilitator for the planning and implementation of a new business operating strategy, a “selective distribution” market plan, across the Home Entertainment business. Implemented a new market model and a new financial model of activity based operations in every EC country including BOSE subsidiaries and distributors.
· Directed the start up of the BOSE European Retail Direct Division. Planned & managed site selection, contract negotiations and start up operations for opening of BOSE first European factory outlet store near Manchester/ Liverpool in January 2000. This was the beginning of a new business division and also an industry breakthrough - a first in Europe for any manufacturer in the audio electronics industry.
· As a side project, wrote a comprehensive Bar Code User Manual, explaining Bose bar code labels, how to correctly read serial numbers & set up product tracking systems. This became essential for policing selective distribution compliance & supporting legal actions in preventing illegal product transhipment.

It also produced “one face to the customer” across multiple retail divisions. BOSE significantly increased customer satisfaction while reducing operating expenses as a % of sales.
· Process facilitator for a team of the President and selected VPs to create the first Bose five-year AggregateNew Products Plan and annual planning process. Conducted teamwork intervention counseling as an explicit part of the effort. The company reached its milestone sales goal within two years. 
· Process Facilitator for a top down European restructuring effort in 1995, which reduced expenses by 14% of sales while implementing a new management structure and leadership.
· Conducted an onsite ‘due diligence’ analysis and recommendation report, to the company President, for a direct marketing company acquisition.
· Planned & Initiated an I/S Dept for the BOSE Japanese sales, marketing & distribution subsidiary. Declined an expatriate assignment while working 75% of 1991-2 in Tokyo. Became conversational in Japanese. Function definition, Hardware & Software Systems Plan, Physical Layout, Outsourcing of Systems Development customization work, Hiring of IT personnel. Negotiated all contracts for hardware, software & software support.
· Assumed a key role in driving the company’s Total Quality Program. Created a Total Quality Advisory Resource network to coach facilitators throughout the company in the use of TQ tools. Served as a senior TQ Advisor to improvement teams.Also created & taught a Facilitation Skills course offered as part of the TQ curriculum. The TQ tools were inclusive of GE's Six Sigma tools and the CQM (Center for Quality Management) methodology practiced by member companies with influence from CQM's Shoji Shiba.
· One of two process facilitators for the company's  Strategic Vision Project. A forging of the company's long term vision and values. Determined by the top 25 executives and directors of the company in group sessions in a year long process.

· Led an effort to create a new project accounting and control system, used by Engineering and IS for tracking and financial reporting of company capital projects. Designed the entire system.

· Planned the I/S function for a Fortune 500 divestiture (new company start up) with multinational operations. Scope included a new HQ & business operations center, 4 manufacturing plants, 2 data centers & migration from GTE's main data center. (Challenger Electrical Equipment Corp, divestiture of GTE Sylvania)
· Designed 25% of a $20 million commercial loan servicing system for a large West Coast bank. Led a 15-person team on a 2 yr+ 150 person consulting engagement. Designed purchased packages and all past due processing. Also defined and set up the project's systems testing environment. (Far West Federal S&L)
· Led a 4 person team, and worked closely with Firm senior partners in creating a 3 day Partner Training Course (meant to groom senior managers chosen for transition to Partner) A ten month relocation assignment to Andersen’s Chicago Headquarters.
