The mystery receiver has been identified!

 

I bought the thing at a yard sale two years ago and have been trying to identify it ever since. I asked Steve, from the Nut Factory Net, to take a look at the picture. He informed me that the radio is a Bendix RA-1. Steve should know. Follow this link to see pictures of his outstanding ham station: K9YK's shack

It tunes 150Khz to 15 Mhz in 6 bands. The antenna selector switch and antenna connectors seem to indicate that it was some sort of directing finding receiver. It appears that 2 connectors in the lower right corner were removed and replaced with a fuse socket and a power indicatior light.
