How to Join the WCVFD
If you're interested in serving your community as a West Columbia volunteer firefighter,
contact any firefighter, or West Columbia City Hall at (979) 345-3123.

Applicants must:

  • Be 21 years or older.
  • Live within the West Columbia city limits.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Have a safe driving record and a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Submit to a drug test and physical.
  • Have at least three references (esp., past volunteer activities).
  • Meet and cooperate with an Investigation Committee.
  • Be approved by the WCVFD membership.

How to Join the WCVFD Ladies' Auxiliary
Membership to the Ladies' Auxiliary is granted to the wives and widows of volunteer members (active, retired, or deceased) of the WCVFD. Members must be at least 21 years of age, and attend at least 50% of the regular meetings during each calendar year.

The dues for active and associate members are just $10 each year, and are to be paid at roll call at the first regular meeting of the new year. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month in the Fire Hall.
