Don't grieve too long for now I'm free
I'm following the path God set for me
I ran to him when I heard His call
I wagged my tail, I left it all.

I could not stay another day
To bark, to love, to romp or play
Games left that way must stay that way
I found such peace, it made my day.

My parting has left you with a void
So fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss
Oh, yes, these things I too shall miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, you've given so much
Your time, your love and gentle touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free...

Maximilian Dewar
2/7/1988 -2/20/1999

We were blessed to have had Max for eleven wonderful years of our life--he was the BEST! We know in our hearts that Max is at peace, sprouting wings and wearing a halo (it's probably crooked on his head- because he could be mischievous too!)

In Memory of Max

"We bought little Max from a Westie breeder when we were living in Maine.  He was not shy and had a lot of spunk.

When we arrive home, Max walked through the house as if to say: 'Not bad-I think I'll like it here'. We were up all night wondering if he would cry.  He didn't!

He brought us a lot of joy and taught us to love life as he did. He loved catching snow flakes, raindrops, rolling in the grass or snow, basking in the sunshine, and sniffing at the flowers. He was very affectionate and loved to give kisses (only when he wanted to-that's a Westie for you).

He was not afraid of thunder, he would bark at it. He did not like the UPS truck, mail truck, vacuum cleaner, bugs or flys.

We loved when he saw someone out in the street and would hurry back to talk to us....'Come here and look!'

He loved to go in the car and also for walks. You would just have to mention 'do you wanna' or spell W A L K  and he would run and get his leash.

Max loved our family members, friends and especially our friends across the street (Al, Carm and Eva, his second family).

He loved Christmas, his birthday or any holiday where he would get presents. He loved ripping them open. He also loved his toys, treats, cookies and romaine lettuce.
