Because Big Business expects us not
to. That's
why government of, for, and by the people gets worse.
We ALLOW
the "haves" to stay in office. Because the public officials
we elect control our pocketbooks and our lives. When we don't
vote, Big Money gets its own way. Quote from an attorney: 'The
law generally favors the people who write it." And that was
NOT ordinary citizens. How many legislators
do you know who are landlords? (Would you believe at least
half?) And how many are tenants????
Your Vote is your Voice
Statistics show that when the masses (us) fail to vote, Big
Money runs our lives, because Big Money uses the POWER we have
given them as elected officials. This is why numbers of voters
can counter Big Money—if we go to the polls.
If the candidate
is backed by Big Money (usually Republicans, but also some Democrats),
it is highly unlikely s/he will vote in Your Interest once
in office. If you are not sure about their positions or where
their funding comes from, call their office and ASK if
they support tenant rights! Vote your pocketbook for the best
candidate, regardless of party!! Homeowners
represent more Votes than Park Owners--as long as WE REGISTER
TO VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION. Legislators follow
these statistics!

Consider abandoning your party affiliations and voting independently.
Political parties are not what they were 40 years ago.
We are
seeing half the Democrats abandoning working class issues and
voting for (Republican) business interests to the complete disregard
of their constituents' best interests. As a general rule, when
you vote Republican, you are voting for park owners.
Did you
know that the Grand Old Party is no longer the party of Abe Lincoln?
It is now dominated by fundamentalist right-wing zealots who
promote fascism. Park owners already have unlimited power over
your life—why give them even more? We now have a criminal
Republican Party and a sniveling Democratic Party.
Existing law is currently ignored—unless we as consumers
can afford to get it enforced using our own attorney.
If you
cannot afford your own attorney, join WIMHOA and buy legal
representation collectively. To do that, you need to help us
recruit more members from within your park so we can amass
a LEGAL FUND. No one can be evicted
for the simple act of joining or forming a tenant union/Chapter
of WIMHOA within a park. This is protected by Statute 704 and
Administrative Code 134. Besides that, our membership list
is confidential and never available to any outside parties,
so you can keep your membership quiet if you wish.
Contact us if you think your civil rights have been or are being
abused as a park resident or an owner of manufactured housing.
Be prepared to spend money--YOUR RIGHTS CANNOT BE ENFORCED
LEGALLY WITHOUT an attorney. Without an
attorney, the law for YOU and us does not exist.
We cannot invoke
enforcement of the law unless we hire an attorney.
