The First Day in front of Miracle Home
In February 2001, Les was laid off. Les would have preferred to wait 2 more years for retirement at 62 and then enter into fulltime ministry. After some attempts to find work it was decided that Arlene would continue to work and Les would go ahead with opening new doors for ministry. In December of that same year, Arlene also got laid off. It seemed that Father had a different plan and they both committed to working for Him fulltime. It seemed obvious that they would not be able to afford the home and the life style that they had grown accustom to. They tried to find more reasonable housing without any results. The search went out to anywhere in New England. They continued to live in the ranch house in Holliston for another year. What they did not know at the time was that Les was going to need bypass surgery on his heart in September of 2002. Only after the surgery and a miracle recovery and rehab did the funds dry up and force their move from Holliston in February of 2003. Les had thought that the provision would be in the form of a Travel Trailer and Van which did not come to pass. In January they were offered a wonderful room in the home of Arnie and Carol Comtois in Southwick MA. They moved in March 1st and what a great blessing it was. In the mean time their dear friends, Clara Jean and Ken Machonis, started talking to them about a pre-manufactured home on their street that may be coming available soon and asking if they thought that it would be something that they would be interested in. Of course they were but, there was the matter of the cost. Discussions were held around a letter asking for help from supporters of the ministry and other options. Nothing felt quite right. Finally the house went on the market and one day Clara Jean called Les and said do you want to live in the single wide down the street. Les said yes they would but did not see how it could be, because all they could afford would be the lot rental and utilities. Clara Jean then asked if money was not a problem would they like to live there. Les very tentatively said yes (not sounding very sure). It is hard to receive. Les and Arlene went to visit their friends Ralph and Pauline Nault and shared with them what was happening and that they were not sure what was the right thing to do. After a few minutes of praying and thinking, Ralph said to them, "I know what you need to do." Les said, "Great, tell me." Ralph said, "Make a decision. You are double-minded. God can't show you His desire until you decide what you want. Make up your mind and go for it. God will make it clear when you make a decision." They made the decision to go for it and went to see Ken about it. They made it clear and with out a doubt as to what their choice was. Ken told them that He felt that the Lord wanted him to buy the trailer for them to live in, and when they didn't want to live in it any more, he would sell it.
After some negotiation with the owner, a price was settled on and the day after the deal was made the picture above was taken. The inside of the house has been completely redecorated and redone from ceiling to floors mostly by the Machonis family, with new appliances and all. It is like new. The Carrolls have a home base that they came minister in and out of with out a burden. This is a wonderful blessing and provision for the Carrolls and their ministry, since most of their ministry has been in their home. It is where they do much of their counseling and emotional healing work. It will also allow them to continue to travel, as in the past, throughout the United States, sharing testimony, teaching, music and the Revelation Truth of the healing presence of the Lord.
