Introduction to the Kiwanis Club
of Carrollton "Golden K"

Kiwanis Club of Carrollton Golden K was organized June l, l994, and chartered August 10, l994. Its members are individuals who give a little of their time and resources to make Carrollton, Carroll County and the world a better place to live.

We have adopted the "Young Children: Priority One" theme as the club's major emphasis for giving. Since l994, we have given approximately one hundred thousand dollars to projects on the local level such as St. Margaret's Outreach, Carrollton Recreation Department, Carroll County Recreation Department, Camp Sunshine, Alice's House, and boy and girl scouts (to name a few) to help the youth and families in our area plus District and International causes. The members of the club hold a weekly morning meeting Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Maple Street Mansion, 401 Maple Street in Carrollton.

Annual Pancake Breakfast

The major fund raiser for the Kiwanis Club of Carrollton Golden K is the annual pancake breakfast held on the four Saturdays in February at the

Maple Street Mansion. In 2008, the four Saturdays are February 2, 9 16, and 23. In the last twelve years we have netted over two hundred fifty thousand dollars which have been used for local, District, and International causes. The majority of the funds have been used locally to help our youth and families. The breakfast is the big social event of Carrollton and Carroll County. Come join us for this annual event!

UPDATE for February, 2007: The 2007 breakfast netted over $32,000 including profits from advertising.
