Fred's Buck

Two weeks before firearm season I was sitting in my tree stand just before dusk when this nice 8 pointer came in to my mock scrape. I drew back my bow and let her rip. Well I heard thud and I realized I hit the tree behind it. Well opening morning firearm season 1999 at 7:45 A.M. the same buck came in in front of me about 75 yards out then he turned around and went back out as fast as he came in. I thought there was no way he winded me because the wind was blowing in my face.
About a half an hour later I heard some thing behind me, when I turned around I saw 3 doe looking right at me. Well they must have winded me because they ran directly away from me. About 5 minutes later I heard something behind me again, this time when I turned around the wall hanger was standing there looking at me from the exact same spot the 3 doe were standing, he took one more step putting him just out of view of me. This gave me my only chance to get my gun into position, as soon as he turned around and took one step back I whacked him. Upon finding him I noticed that he a slice on the top of his back where I slung an arrow 2 weeks prior.
He dressed at 173 lbs, 8 points, 18 inch
spread, 8 1/4 inch tines,4 inch thick main beams, 26 inch neck
