How to make a reflector oven

(Very easy project you can do with the kids!)

 
You need a cardboard box, heavy duty aluminum foil, metal rods (*You can also use green sticks.) and a couple of rocks.....

1. First you cut the box in half cross corner (see fig.1) and line the inside of one half with 2 layers of aluminum foil, being sure to cover all the cardboard.

 Now you take the rocks you gathered and prop the "oven" on it's edge and use the metal rods* to help support it. (see fig.2)

 Now take metal rods* and run them through the center of the box to form a rack to set what-ever it is to be baked on. Face the opening toward the fire and you are ready to go.(see fig.3)

 One way to gage the temperature you are baking at is to hold your hand at the front of the oven as long as you can stand. Three seconds is about 350 to 400 F. and subtract 100 F. for every second after the initial three seconds.
