The
TG-C Ward Major Minutemen
Campaign Timeline
Elements of this timeline came from Champions games streaching
to the dawn of softcover Champions in the 1980's. They include the
Triangle Geo-Chemical campaign, the Ward Major campaign and the
Minutemen campaign. Players, GMs and contributors include: Deena
McKinney, Paul Patino, Keith Martin, Wayne Peacock, Brad Townsend,

1905

an ability to fly after being exposed to the Tungaska Effect.
1909

and soil samples from the site of the blast. They discover nothing
out of the ordinary.
1910
Vassily Nabokov is killed during an experiment headed by the Russian
"scientists" of Project Hyper-C. Faster-than-light travel
is proven impossible in atmosphere.
1922
Dr. Hector, "The Boy Genius" Andrews, in his doctoral
dissertation, postulates the existence of a radiation-activated,
sub-atomic "virus" which is responsible for Vassily Nabokov's
Powers. The paper is so esoteric and convoluted that not much can
be made of it.
1925
Indigo, a masked vigilante appears in the streets of L.A. He becomes
one of a small number of "mystery men" operating in the
world.
1931
Doctor Arcane, a mystery man/magician based in the northeast, begins
his crime-busting career. He, over the course of a few months, single-handedly
cleans up the mob-run waterfront in Boston harbor
1933
Dr. Arcane, Sensei, Indigo, and the new mystery woman, Superego,
form the world's first supergroup - Pentacle
1939
Indigo and Superego marry secretly and in their hero identities.
1941
During the bombing of Pearl Harbor the Ego side of Superego is killed.
Id nearly kills Dr. Arcane and Indigo, but Sensei manages to kill
her first. In the aftermath of Superego's death and the horrors
of the attack, Pentacle dissolves. Sensei is believed to have returned
to Japan; where he and other Japanese magicians begin work with
the world-famous geneticist, Dr. Inari.
Dr. Arcane, heartbroken and torn between his friendship with Sensei
and his loyalty to the U.S., disappears. He reappears sporadically
throughout the war.
Indigo swears vengeance on Sensei and calls Dr. Arcane a "..[C]oward
and friend to murderers and fascists!"
1942
Dr. Arcane speaks out against the internment of Japanese Americans.
Indigo heads up U.S. covert action in the Pacific.
1943
Project Protector started in connection with the Manhattan Project.
The research team is headed by Dr. Hector Andrews.

Protector, the first superbeing to have been publicly acknowledged
as being created, is put to work by the Allies. A few months later
the world's first self-proclaimed and self-created supervillain,
Helmut Bodak, is hired by the Axis to kill Protector. Bodak and
Protector effectively nullify each other's contributions to the
war effort.
1945
Victor Wilde and the Wilde Bunch begin their adventuring careers
by exposing Dr. Fu Manchu's attempt to enslave the world with his
nefarious Blue Virus of Ardent Submission. Dr. Fu is believed to
have perished when Wilde's Submarine, the Double Fish, breached
his Aquadome. The band is secretive, and no one knows if it is made
up of superbeings or not.
German soldiers returning from the Eastern Front spread tales of
a soviet superhero, General Mayhem.
Dr. Arcane re-appears long enough to save a child who wandered into
the testing area for the A-bomb. From his recovery bed he warns
the president not drop the bomb.

radical super-soldier programs under the heading Project Myrmidon.
After much hue and cry from the public, Protector is installed as
the first state-supported superhero - under the Department of Justice.

Bodak.

to monitor nuclear weapons proliferation
Victor Wilde and the Wilde Bunch uncover sketchy evidence of a vast
network of criminal masterminds (some of whom are superbeings).
He refers to them as the Worldwide League of Crime.
Dr. Hector Andrews disappears. His landlady claims to have seen
him wink out of existence in her basement. The last she saw of him
he was seated in an ornate chair, with some fan-like device behind
it, surrounded in lights.
1948
America agrees to educate select Israeli scientists in the processes
of Project Myrmidon
The known felon, Vinnie DeBoughanville, is released from prison
after the judge refuses to accept the testimony of Indigo. The case
is appealed to the Supreme Court and the decision is upheld. The
Indigo/DeBoughanville precedent (that a distinctive mask or costume
is not sufficient to establish identity) is set. DeBoughanville
is found drowned in a bucket of water in his flat on Christmas Day.
A hastily scribbled "suicide" note contains a confession
to all his crimes. No hard evidence can be found of foul play.
Victor Wilde and the Wilde Bunch bust up an arms merchant's factory
in Argentina as part of their unending war on the Worldwide League
of Crime. He links the identity of the merchant, nicknamed "Dr
Destroyer", with an expatriate German rocket scientist named
Albert Zerstoiten. Dr. Destroyer gets away with the help of Helmut
Bodak.
1950
Protector and Bodak disappear during a duel at Bodak's base in the
Andes. A new Protector is appointed by the Army, but proves unstable

and assumes the mantle of the Protector.

this country's creation in the first place." When the Senator

and, once again, disappeared.
