House Rules and Considerations

Backgrounds

Loners and antiheroes are not suitable for character themes in Newcomer. Think Spider Man and Astro City, not The Crow.

It is assumed that the PC's are relatively green heroes who have journeyed to San Angelo. While San Angelo does have a resident hero team, The Justice Foundation, there seems to be room for more heroes. While not the biggest city in the world, San Angelo's history is intimately tied to superpowers and superbeings.

I want a detailed (i.e. written) character background for each character. It does not have to be pages and pages long, but a couple of paragraphs would be great. Please at least attach a list of the character's immediate family and any contacts/friends in San Angelo.

NOTE: In this background, the player must detail at least one of the character's heroes, either choosing one from the San Angelo source material or creating one. The character's hero does not have to be a superbeing, of course. The reasons for choosing this hero, etc. must be part of the character background.

Normal is Normal (*)

If your PC has at least one power and/or any of the PC's characteristics are above the normal maxima, then that person is not a normal Homo Sapiens. She is something else.

If you want to play a super-trained human, then build him that way. Here are some guidelines for playing a normal: Normals in Newcomer
