Palaestra has hosted at least three campaings. If any of you are using this matierial, please let me know and we can work on other links.

Mare Draconum Campaign

This game is DMed by Stewart MacWilliam. Details and links can be found on this site.

The setting is the southwestern coast of the Mare Draconum, the small inland sea. The reason most of the area around it has never been absorbed into either Rolgulka or Iconium is that it is a traditional hunting/breeding spot for a number of dragon species. Actual draconic appearances are uncommon, but they have a tendency to make a big impression.

Skia Thalassa Campaign

The Skia Thalassa campain is the newest game set in Palaestra. Three of the originial players remain in the game along with two new ones.

Tavian Campaign

The Tavian campain is on indefinte hiatus for the time being. I will be sure to post updates when we get around to finishing the story arc.

The game began with the characters heading to the city of Tavia, located in Thessala, the northernmost province of Iconium. Thessala is regarded as somewhat "wild" by the standards of Iconian city-folk, but much of the area has been settled for generations. The long border with Faerie means that fantastic creatures often sneak over the boarder to raid. Disputes between human, orc and Cimbri are not unheard of, but full-scale battles are fairly rare.

Tavia is noted as the first large city on the trade routes from Rolgulka. Cimbri tribal lands also border Thessala - notably the Credi, a powerful Cimbri people. This area is known for the slaves and slavers that come via Rogulka and the fine cloth produced by Tavian craftsmen -- made from wool harvested by the Credi. Credi wool is some of the most valuable in Iconium. The city is governed by Baron Severus Aprenos, who serves Count Pardus, a liegeman of Duke Dragases.

Seven Maxims of Gaming

1) It's a game.

2) The purpose of the game is to have fun creating a story by developing Palaestra, its cultures and, most importantly, the characters.

3) The characters are the stars of the story, not the NPCs.

4) Barring a DMing disaster, the fun you have as a player is directly proportional to the effort you spend working on your character.

5) If you can't make it to a game, call/email ASAP! We're grownups — life happens...

6) Everyone, especially the DM, makes mistakes. If you have a problem with mechanics, players, the DM, etc. let's try to work it out. Feedback is good.

Sometimes gaming styles conflict. If we can't work it out, then it's best to part company than risk hurt feelings. See #7.

7) If you want to quit, then quit. No fuss. No guilt. It's a game, not a job.
