Tavia
Tavia is located in Thessala, the northernmost province of Iconium. Cosmopolitan citizens of the empire regard Thessala as somewhat "wild" by their standards, but much of the area has been settled for generations. The long border with Faerie means that fantastic creatures often sneak over the boarder to raid and this has kept this notion of Thessala's feral nature alive. Disputes between human, orc and Cimbri are not unheard of, but full-scale battles are rare.
Tavia is noted as the first large city on the trade routes from Rolgulka. Cimbri tribal lands also border Thessala - notably the Credi, a powerful Cimbri people. This area is known for the slaves and slavers that come via Rogulka and the fine cloth produced by Tavian craftsmen - made from wool harvested by the Credi. Credi wool is some of the most valuable in Iconium.
Several factions dominate Tavian life: the nobility, the imperial bureaucracy, the guilds and the church. While disenfranchised from direct representation many commoners still influence the life of Tavia, some of these folk are detailed as well. Listed below are particulars of the groups - their functions and how they interrelate. While there are descriptions of the people that fill these roles, most roleplaying information can be found in the NPC Roster.
