Seven Questions

Q: Where did the Fae come from?
A:
We were all created by Faerie, the Mother Earth.

Q: What do we worship?
A:
We all worship the creative mystery. Some do that through intermediaries, powerful spirits of Faerie, that we name, the gods. In the end, though it is to this divine mystery that we turn.

Praise-singers, our priests, tell us of the gods' feats, but druids hold the deepest knowledge. They are the keepers of the Truth, the revealers of questions, the speakers of riddle and song.

Q: How do I know the gods are real?
A:
We see their power around us. The ollaves sing their songs and are rewarded with feats of magic, given from the hands of the gods. In ancient times the gods lived among us, and some say they still do.

Q: What happens when I die?
A:
You will return to the great cycle of life. If you have pleased the gods, you may spend time with them in their world feasting and singing their praises. Some say that the gods have the power to influence the form that you will be reborn into, if you please them. Powerful druids are able to reincarnate the dead —proof of the true cycle of life.

Q: Where do I live?
A:
Most of our folk dwell in villages, not in the cramped, dirty cities of the humans. In this way we can be close to our Mother, the source of all power. Near your village is a keep held by the noble charged with your protection. Also, there is a place of power, a grove, or grotto where the Druids live. Perhaps there is a shrine to a local god, tended by an ollave. Witches and sorcerers are always among our folk, healing and working magic.

Q: Who are the humans?
A:
They are strange and warlike creatures. They have honor, of a sort, but are religious fanatics —zealots that enslave their own kind. Yet they are also gentle to their old and loyal to their ollaves and nobles.

They breed like rabbits and work like horses — they have built a mighty nation on what was barren land. A confusing and dangerous folk.

Q: Who rules me?
A:
You owe loyalty to family, clan, people, king, High King and the Druids — but no fae truly rules another. We are strong and independent folk.
