Seelie Beast

The lands of Faerie are home to fantastic counterparts of normal creatures — the very nature of Faerie shapes them into enchanted creatures of primordial grandeur.

Seelie beast is a template that can be added to any corporeal creature of any nonevil alignment (referred hereafter as the "base creature.") Animals with the template become magical beasts but otherwise the creature type is unchanged.

Seelie beings are often creatures of the woodlands. They are whimsical, lusty and often self-indulgent. The most common forms of animals this template is applied to are badger, bear, bison, boar, dog, eagle, hawk, horse, lion, owl, pony, raven, snake, viper, weasel, wolf and wolverine. Giant and dire varieties are also common.

A seelie beast uses all the base creature's statistics and special abilities except as noted here.

Special Qualities: A seelie beast retains all the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following ones:

  • Low Light vision 60'
  • Damage Reduction (see below)
  • Majestic Presence: (Ex) These creatures' otherworldly beauty and grace unnerves many around them. Creatures within 30' of the fae must make a will save or become shaken for 1d4 rounds. Persons who successfully save are immune to the creature's majestic presence for 24 hours. The save DC for this ability is equal to 10 + ½ the creature's hit dice.
  • Spell Resistance: SR equal to double the creatures HD (Maximum 25)
  • Fast Healing (Ex): Seelie beasts heal damage each round, provided they are still alive (see below)
