Unseelie Beast

Unseelie beast is a template that can be added to any corporeal creature of any nongood alignment (referred hereafter as the "base creature.") Beasts or animals with the template become magical beasts but otherwise the creature type is unchanged.

Unseelie beasts are often creatures of dark, watery places, such as fens and underground pools. They are crafty and prone to maliciousness. The most common forms of beasts are badger, bear, bison, boar, dog, eagle, hawk, horse, lion, owl, pony, rat, raven, snake, viper, weasel, wolf and wolverine. Giant and dire varieties are also common.

An unseelie beast uses all the base creature's statistics and special abilities except as noted here.

Special Qualities: An unseelie beast retains all the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following ones:

  • Darkvision 60'
  • Damage Reduction (see below)
  • Terrifying Presence: (Ex) These creatures' fearsome presence unnerves many around them. Creatures within 30' of the fae must make a will save or become shaken for 1d4 rounds. Persons who successfully save are immune to the creature's majestic presence for 24 hours. The save DC for this ability is equal to 12 + ½ the creature's hit dice.
  • SR equal to double the creatures HD (Maximum 25)
  • Fast Healing (Ex): Unseelie beasts heal damage each round, provided they are still alive (see below)
