PUPPET 1

Hello, boys and girls! This is the second Sunday of the Advent. The theme for this Sunday is peace.

PUPPET 2

Piece. You mean like a piece of candy, a piece of pie, or a piece of cake?

PUPPET 1

No, not piece – peace.

PUPPET 2

Piece of paper? Piece of furniture? Piece of mind?

PUPPET 1

You’re getting warmer.

PUPPET 2

So, this is the Sunday we give people a piece of our minds?

PUPPET 1

No, no, no. You got it all wrong! Not P-I-E-C-E – P-E-A-C-E.

PUPPET 2

Oh, I see. Peace. That’s when everything is going great and you have nothing to worry about.

PUPPET 1

Well, yes, but we can have peace even when things are not going so great.

PUPPET 2

How’s that?

PUPPET 1

Because we know that God is in control, and He promised that He will work all things to the good for those who love Him.*

PUPPET 2

Hey, that does make me feel peaceful.

PUPPET 1

Yes, that is true peace, knowing that God is in control.

PUPPET 2

Hey, I have some pumpkin pie left over from Thanksgiving. You want a piece of pie?

PUPPET 1

Okay.

(Puppets exit.)
