SAL - a boy puppet
WOOF - a dog puppet
The skits begins with Sal coming on stage to greet the audience.
(waits for audience response)
It's good to be here today.
While SAL is talking, WOOF comes on stage, sniffing around. SAL's attention is draw from what he is doing to WOOF. WOOF sniffs SAL, shakes his head and sneezes.
Woof, what are you doing? Everyone this is my dog, Woof.
(looking at audience)
Wow. Look at all them people.
WOOF goes back to sniffing.
Woof, what are you doing?
I, sir, am tracking dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs! You can't track something that's been extinct for thousands of years.
(looking at SAL)
I thought the scent was a little weak.
You... Woof, what gave you the idea that you could track dinosaurs?
(leaning close as though telling a secret)
Well, I heard this fellow say the other day that he could work his way into heaven.
Yeah. I figured if he thought he could work his way to heaven, I should be able to track down a real live dinosaur.
Well, the chances are about the same. You see, Woof, no one can work their way to heaven, because none of us can be good enough for God. Romans 3:10 says: "As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one..." [NIV]
Doing what is right and good in God's eyes.
All the time?
Yes, all the time. But there is hope. We can be made righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. In Romans 4:3, we see an example of this faith in work. It says: ..Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous."[GNB] You see, Abraham believed whatever God said, by faith. We, as well, should accept the Bible, by faith, as the Word of God.
So, the only way is through faith in Jesus.
Did you hear that? You have to have faith. Wooow!
Yes, that is right. Jesus said: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one goes to the Father except by me."[John 14:6 - GNB]
Well, I guess I will have to give it up.
Give up what?
SAL and WOOF exit.
