About Tammy Gingerella

Tammy began the 3-level Certificate Program in Iyengar Yoga at the Iyengar Yoga Institute at UC Riverside Extension in June 2002. This program includes the study of asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), anatomy and physiology, Indian philosophy, and teaching according to the Iyengar system. She has earned the first two certificates offered by UC Riverside: “Fundamentals of Yoga” and “Yoga Theory and Practice” and is nearing completion of the “Teacher Training” certificate. She is also nearing completion of the Iyengar Teacher Training program at Yoga Works in Costa Mesa.

Tammy studies regularly with certified Iyengar Yoga teachers, attending classes and workshops throughout Southern California. She attended the National Iyengar Yoga Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota in May, 2004 and an intensive with Shri BKS Iyengar at the Yoga Journal Conference in Colorado in September, 2005. She passed the first level of assessment in the Iyengar Yoga certification process, earning her “Teacher in Training” status with the Iyengar Yoga Association of the United States (IYNAUS).

Tammy has been teaching yoga since September, 2003 and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance, a national organization that registers instructors that meet education and training standards.
