Emageon NASCAR Pool
Field your team of six drivers, and
cheer them all on to the checkered flag over the course of 36 exciting weeks of
NASCAR Nextel Cup racing!
Drivers:
- Each player fields a team of 6 NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers. The driver team
can only be changed between segments of the season, and any changes must be
submitted BEFORE the start of qualifying. (Exception: Segment 1 teams need to
be submitted before the drop of the green flag at Daytona.)
- If a member of the team is unable to start a race due to injury, the
driver can be replaced with a replacement driver chosen before the start of
qualifying.
- If a member of the team is unable to start a race due to being released
from his NASCAR contract, fired, failing to qualify, or any other reason other
than injury, a replacement driver will not be allowed and the player will get
no points.
Segments:
The NASCAR Nextel Cup season is
broken up into four segments:
- Segment 1, "Warm Up": 02.15.04, Race #1, Daytona 500 - 04.25.04,
Race #9, Aaron's 499
- Segment 2, "Power On": 05.02.04, Race #10, Auto Club 500 -
07.11.04, Race #18, Tropicana 400
- Segment 3, "Homestretch": 07.25.04, Race #19, New England 300 -
09.19.04, Race #27, Sylvania 300
- Segment 4, "Checkered Flag": 09.26.04, Race #28, MBNA America 400 -
11.21.04, Race #36, Ford 400
Note that the Budweiser Shootout, the Gatorade Twin 125's, and the NASCAR
Nextel All-Star Challenge are non-points events, and will
NOT be counted towards pool results.
Drafting:
- At the start of each segment, each player will select a team of 6 drivers.
- More than one player may have the same driver on a team. There is no limit
to the number of teams a driver may be on.
- Each driver is given a "Power Value":
- The Power Value for each driver is equal to their position in the season
standings after the last race in the previous segment.
- If a driver is outside of the Top 30 in season points is assigned a
value of 30.
- For Segment 1, the Power Values are determined by the final standings of
the
previous year.
- The sum of the team's Power Values for Segment 1 must be GREATER THAN or
EQUAL TO 93 points.
- For segments 2 through 4, the sum of each team's Power Values is based on
a player's pool standing at the end of the previous segment:
- 1st Place: 98 points
- 2nd Place: 97 points
- 3rd Place: 96 points
- 4th Place: 95 points
- And so on... simply subtract your place from 99 to determine your value.
Example Team, for Segment 1:
| Driver |
Power Value |
| Matt Kenseth |
1 |
| Kevin Harvick |
5 |
| Ryan Newman |
6 |
| Elliott Sadler |
22 |
| Kenny Wallace |
30 |
| Kyle Petty |
30 |
| TOTAL: |
94 |
Results and Standings:
- A player's total points for each race is figured by adding the official
Nextel Cup points earned by each of the player's top 5 drivers for that race.
- Results will be posted on this website as soon as they can be, typically
Monday and Tuesday night.
