NCAA Numbers Pool
Fill out your bracket, either with a pen or electronically. Click here for a PDF bracket. A correct pick gains you points based on the original region seed number of the team. For example, in a game between a #2 seed and a #7 seed, picking the #2 seed to win is worth 2 points, while picking the #7 seed to win is worth 7 points. Of course, you get 0 (zero, nada, zilch, nothing!) if you pick wrong, so maybe going for the 2 points isn't such a bad deal.
Results will be tabulated at the bottom of this page once the contest period begins. Your web browser must be capable of running a simple JavaScript applet.
In the event of a tie at the conclusion of the tournament, the winner will be determine by the correct number of games picked. If this still results in a tie, then the money will be distributed as it is in golf: Add the prize money from the tied positions, divide by the number of players, and there's your prize.
Entry fee is $5 per bracket. There is no limit on the number of brackets that you may submit. 100% of the entry fees will be refunded as prize money. Breakdown will be determined based on the number of entries, but it is tentatively scheduled as:
1st Place: |
60% of prize money |
Tentative Amount | $39 |
2nd Place: |
30% of prize money |
Tentative Amount | $19.50 |
3rd Place: |
10% of prize money |
Tentative Amount | $6.50 |

If submitting electronically to matthewfrancois@charter.net, brackets must be received by March 17, 2004. No changes may be made to the brackets after March 17, 2004, and I'm not responsible for your laziness. I've got plenty of that on my own.
Note: I got my dad's bracket, so he now appears in the standings.
Recap: Upsets! Upsets! Upsets! Day 4 saw the fall of a lot of tournament favorites -- especially up here in Madison! With Kentucky and Wisconsin out of the tournament, people's brackets starting to go into disarray, and a week to think about the picks you *should* have made, Day 4 also saw Jason take the lead from Stephane. How will their brackets fight it out over the rest of the tournament for the overall lead? And will Kaitlin's surge to third place hold up next weekend?
